..it's good to be a Country's leader..
« on: April 06, 2018, 06:16:08 AM »
.
been reading in recent news about all the leaders of different countries that have, uh, over-charged their constituency for services rendered (read : milked their country's coffers for their personal gain) :

Brazil x2
S Korea
Iceland
Pakistan
S Africa
Israel (?)

then really got curious and found that dishonest/corrupt leadership has been a common thing thru-out the world - somewhat recently :

Nicaragua
Ukraine x2
Peru\Haiti
Serbia/Yugoslavia
Tunisia
Nigeria
Zaire (Congo)
Philippines x2
Indonesia
Italy

(of course, those are just the ones "in the news")

now I'm really curious about recent "leaders" of the U.S. of A. - seems that chicago's "community organizer" is estimated to have a $s worth of $12.4 million - not bad when ya consider his annual salary was $400,000 (400,000x8years = well, you get it..) (can't count the nobel prise $s, which he said he'd give to charity).....who was it that said "it's good to be president" ?

Some countries will tell you it's not corruption, it's payment for efficient service or a jobs program. Really.

Here's a view from a non-profit that collects information from businesses that operate in various countries:

https://www.transparency.org/news/feature/corruption_perceptions_index_2017

There's an infographic about 1/2 way down the page that quantifies each country.
