Driving by on the main road today I noticed that Downrange has a small real estate sized sign up where you turn. Have they reopened to the public?

Yes. And glad to see this. I called them a week ago, and they claimed they still didn't know when they would be open. They had been saying "2 weeks more" for months now.

I was out there Saturday, thought I'd give a quick range report.

The range fee is now 10 dollars for two hours (enforced only if there is a wait, there wasn't) for normal use, or 15 dollars to use the steel targets on the pistol range. There are dessert plate sized steel poppers on the rifle range at 100 yards that I think are available for everyone. At least, there's no way to stop you from shooting at them!

The rifle range is roughly unchanged, though the chairs are now much nicer than the hodgepodge that was there previously. There are still IDPA style target stands if you wish to setup targets at ranges less than 100 yards. There are sandbags available for rent/borrow (I wasn't clear which, they were out at the time) but the rifle sleds that used to be there are gone.

The pistol range is substantially improved. They have a neat target system that uses PVC pipes buried in the ground at 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, and 25 yards to support the target holders, which are made of foam. Nails with plastic washers are available to tack your targets to the foam. Its a really cleaver system and works pretty well!

The old 25 yards steel only range is no longer setup, looks like they are planning on building something new there.

The skeet range is still standing, but looks maintained, I forgot to ask about it.

I didn't actually check the restrooms, but they looked like they had been rebuilt a bit, the doors actually shut now and there is a ramp up to them instead of just a steep step.

The office has a reliable credit card reading machine (no more square!) and is pretty well stocked with ammo at not terrible prices. They also have basic targets for 50 cents each, assorted gun accessories, and some cleaning supplies for sale. The biggest change is that they also have rental guns! Including a 308 SCAR that I kinda wanted to try. Rental prices are 7 dollars for handguns and 10 for rifles, you have to use their ammo if you rent a gun.

Overall its a pretty significant improvement over the previous management. I hope they keep improving the range!

*edit* forgot to discuss range rules. Its still really laid back. They don't care much about rapid fire so long as it is controlled. The two guys out there running it were super bored so they came out and watched us shoot, didn't mind me doing a mag dump, but they did watch to make sure I was on target. They aren't hesitant to speak up if they think you are being unsafe, but that's about the only way you'll hear anything out of them.
I have a few guns.

Sounds like great improvements. I'll look forward to another meet once it gets cooler.
