When I turned 45 I went to have my eyes checked and found out I needed bifocals and these are the ones with the lines

same for me...  I have progressives though.

My optometrist said 99% of people will need to move to bifocals when they are in their 40's.

Sad part is I used to always rib my wife for her bifocals, don't have that trump car anymore.

Happy birthday to you Satax and all you other Scorpios. My 65th will be on the 15th and I retire for the second time on the 22nd. Can't friggin' wait.

OLDSPY,

One thing is certain: I like being able to "TUNE OUT" people who are "fussing", given my >30 year rifle range hearing loss.

Tango,

NOPE. = It really means that unless I'm interested enough in hearing the "fuss" (and I seldom am interested in hearing an ugly spat)  that I don't bother to listen carefully and/or "read faces".
(I have significant HIGH & LOW frequency losses due to shooting & tracked vehicles. = The 106MM RR didn't help either.)

did you know that the M40 gun was actually a 105mm ?  Got to shoot it a number of times (never in anger tho) - liked firing it's mounted .50cal spotting rifle also

my hearing loss and this god-awful tinnitus I got thanks to flying - got two high-blown hearing aids from the VA but I hate wearing them, and don't  :th_KO:

I spent the first 25 years of my life living on the ragged edge, doing things that should've killed me. I have wished for the last 28 that it did.
Not really, I have a great life. But my body aches 24 hrs a day.

It's just the price you pay growing older!

it does suck getting old, but even knowing what i know now, i'm pretty sure i wouldn't change a thing!

some are memories that i can sit back and laugh at now, and some have me shaking my head wondering just how did i survive all that crazy stuff i did when i was younger.

as my father always says, any morning you can still crawl out of bed, is still a good day!

Well I am 68. No complaint at all about my 9 year stretch of pretty poor health. Had, past tense, had, undetectable now, Cancer. 2 knee replacements, gallbladder out, Blood clots in my lungs from last knee replacement.
For sure this getting old aint for sissies but finally got healthy.
Thank you Lord for healing. Came out of retirement and am back pastoring a little church.
I am healthier now than I have been since I was 55.

Been wondering what happened to you as I didn't see you posting much .
I don't go to the CHL site any more just  this one and Texas gun talk.

Glad to hear your health is good now and as Spock would say "live  long and prosper".
