November monthly IDPA match at Impact Zone
« on: November 11, 2012, 05:26:23 PM »
Just a reminder to anyone interested that this upcoming Saturday, November 17 is our monthly IDPA match at The Impact Zone.

See here for details and to sign up (walk-ups allowed, but sign-ups preferred so we know who's coming):
http://www.shilohidpa.com/MatchRegister/68

We'll be having around 8 stages.

New or experienced shooters welcome! If you've never shot IDPA before, don't worry, you're still welcome as long as you know how to point your gun downrange :)

I'll post stages in a few days.

In addition to the match, we're going to hold a classifier after the match. I'm limiting the number of people so we don't spend all day at the range.

Its start time is fluid, I would expect sometime between 1 and 2 (should be enough time for match teardown, lunch then classifier setup). If you'd like to do the classifier, see this link for signup. If you want to attend, please sign up.

My 13 year old son, Dustin, will be shooting IDPA for the first time. What time do we need to be there for new shooter orientation?

Unfortunately looks like I'm not going to have time to convert the rest of the scenarios.

BUT:

Expect 7 stages, ~101 rounds, plus a plate rack stage 8 that'll be scored separately from the rest of the match.

There'll be some shooting from retention, retreating and shooting, shooting from a picnic table, shooting through a van window, over the hood of a car and a bunch of shooting while moving. Expect hammer down to be as close to 9am as possible!

Pretty excited, and only an hour away from me this time!  :th_thicon_idea:
