Say it Aint So.  Common Sense Proposals From The BATFE

In a move that would have been unheard of in the past 20 years, Ronald B. Turk, associate deputy director and chief operating officer of the ATF, has suggested a significant chsnge in the body of regulations relating to firearma.

These are common sense changes with the exception of creating a permanent record of purchases instead of a 20 year retention requirement.

The paper also addresses:

1.  New Federal Firearms Licensees catagory Dealing Exclusively at Gun Shows (or internet)
2.  Armor Piercing Ammunition
3.  Re-importation of Certain surplus Department of Defense firearms from Foreign Countries
5.  Harmonize conflicting rulings regarding Firearm Arm or Stabilizing Brace
6.  A New Sporting Purpose Study with focus on modern sports uses.
7.  Creation of a Database of Agency Rulings
8.  Remove Suppressors from the NFA
9.  Firearms Industry Proposals to Allow for Interstate Sale of Firearms at Gun Shows
10.   Destructive Devices. Seperate launchers from munitions

Really shocking for something that is extremely sensible, for the most part, to come from within the ATF.
Guess the bureaucrats see the writing on the wall after all.

Hopefully, the absolutely useless and corrupt  ATF is on their way OUT.
There are two kinds of people in the world my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. YOU DIG.  " Blondie".

Well, any man that wouldnt cheat at cards for a poke, dont want one bad enough. " Gus".

My guess is they realize they're about to be out of the job when the agency is disbanded and they are desperately trying to save themselves. Ship, sinking, rats and all that fun stuff

I just reread this.
I love the date 20 Jan 2017.

I'm guessing most of this will pass.

So I've got my cigar, my porch, my cigar smoking chair, and my cigar smoking weather handy.

My first thought reading the line "Continued inaction poses significant litigation and reputation risks to ATF." My reaction: "HA. You're reputation with us was already in the toilet to begin with, you sweaty bastards!"

Item #3: Awwwwwww baby.... We're finally going to get back our M-1's and stuff back from the South Koreans; this is going to be exciting as hell until we get them back and find out they're in shite condition and selling for more than modem repro's!

Item #4: Damn.... Still no open NDA registry; oh well, back to the drawing board.

Item #5: "Good judgment" my ass.

Item #6: Holy Jesus somebody catch me; we'd be able to dispense with the stupid 922R limit and parts kits in general! My body is ready!!

Item #7: .... Has me a little leery. Didn't they just say in item 5 that they have a hard time managing the wording of their own rulings? I agree that a standardized reference point would be useful, but not if it turns around and gets filled with more poorly worded BS. Still, I guess it's better than nothing.
