As there are so many insurance options for LTC / CHL holders.  I am confused with so many options.  I have been a member of the NRA for may years now and like most of what they offer and do for us, however some things I don't agree with.  I wont go into that here.

I would like to get some liability insurance but there are so many options out there.  The newest that I have seen is the new NRA Carry Guard.  This seems to be better coverage then the old NRA program and a bit cheaper.  With their backing it seems that it would be a no brainier option, however I could be looking at this wrong.

I don't plan on having to use this but if it ever happens I want something to help me.  With so many options for this type of liability what should one go with?  All seem to have the same fine print and gimmicks if you will.

It depends on YOUR specific situation.  Some like Texas Law Shield, some xxx, some yyy.

Personally I self insure, but that's not necessarily right for others.
I self insurance. What that means is a lot more than having $'s in the bank.
It means being situationally aware and cool headed.  If I was 25 or full of piss and vinegar ( :)  ) I probably would consider Texas Law Shield.

After looking into the different options, I chose Texas Law Shield, and nothing in The NRA's new Carry Guard makes me consider switching.
I do however like the idea of training opportunities being included in Carry Guard, and hope that many people who otherwise don't consider training to matter, will take advantage of it.

I may do the NRA solution. Just been a long time supporter and if they are backing it seems like it would be good to have the piece of mind.

I don't plan on ever needing to use it and hope that time never comes.

shamelin73,

I'm paying about 13.oo per month with TX Law Shield for 50 States coverage. = NOT a bad deal if you travel as much as I do.

This has come up before, and I will give my answer. I am in court every week because of my job. In all the years, I have only ever seen 1 or 2 lawyers I was impressed enough to hire. Most lawyers are not very good. I would rather choose my own attorney over someone they stick me with.

Texas Law Shield
You should go to one of their seminars. Cost is $10.00 for non-members and $5.00 for members.
There's one coming up in Conroe on 7/26/17 that will cover new laws from the latest legislative session
