‘A VOTE FOR TAA NEXT WEEK IS A VOTE TO SEND FAST-TRACK TO THE PRESIDENT’S DESK’

Quote
It appears there will be another attempt by Tuesday to force through new executive powers for President Obama. A vote for TAA next week is a vote to send fast-track to the President’s desk and to grant him these broad new executive authorities. If that happens, it will empower the President to form a Pacific Union encompassing 40 percent of the world’s economy and 12 nations—each with one equal vote. Once the union is formed, foreign bureaucrats will be required to meet regularly to write the Commission’s rules, regulations, and directives—impacting Americans’ jobs, wages, and sovereignty. The union is chartered with a “Living Agreement,” and there is no doubt it will seek to expand its membership and reach over time.

Fast-track will not only apply to the Pacific Union, but can expedite an unlimited number of yet-unseen international compacts for six years. There are already plans to advance through fast-track the Trade in Services Agreement, the goal of which includes labor mobility among more than 50 nations, further eroding the ability of the American people to control their own affairs.

Americans do not want this, did not ask for it, and are pleading from their hearts for their lawmakers to stop it.

The Republicans control both parts of Congress, but the world has turned upside down. THEY are pushing this agenda for the president, and the Democrats are the ones against it.

I have understood recently that there is not much difference between the two - and one could think that it is democrats pretending to be republicans to control them form within.

For years, Glenn Beck has said that there really is no difference... That the whole "label" thing is pushed about to divide us and confuse us. In this case, I would say that is correct...

But damn - can you believe what is happening? They are throwing this country and its citizens under the bus. I feel sorry for my son. Whether this succeeds or not - it will not stop...

WTH another vote on this in less than a week? That's almost unheard of. There is money to be made on this agreement and somebody is going to line there pockets with it. How many in D.C. are vested in companies that are doing business or getting ready to do business with these developing countries?

What does all that mean? I read it, but have no idea what their talking about. It doesn't sound good though.

Disclaimer -- "From what I understand so far":

Obama is trying to forcibly join the US into another vaguely NATO-like union, the likes of which already exists in Europe (IE: The European Union). It's essentially the equivalent of an international Housing Association -- a central committee somewhere would decide that certain countries aren't up to snuff in some areas, and pass resolutions forcing that country to tackle those undesirable issues, in the same way you'd get told to clean up your yard if you have junk in it or haven't mowed it in a HOA.

The most worrying aspects are that we will no longer have the freedom to decide what we want to do as a country anymore -- if we want to create a new trade agreement, the union would have to vote on it and give us permission -- and if more than __ members of the union decide they don't like the idea, then we get denied. One of the specifically mentioned problems outlined in the article, is that the new resolution would obligate us to increase exports to South Korea in the amount of $10 billion -- yet, the REAL amount we're ACTUALLY looking at getting off of them is $1 billion. Meanwhile, they've been set up to unload $12 billion's worth of stuff on us, creating (so far) $11 billion's worth of debt off this agreement so far.

I think some of the other eventual goals are modeled after some of the Schengen Law, which is now a big part of EU law -- essentially you don't need a passport to travel between countries, which obviously makes it a whole lot easier to go from place to place. I don't need to remind you why that could be a bad thing. It also appears to basically be another form of bringing about that stupid treaty they tried to shove down our throats a year or so ago that severely limits importation of arms, since it would require us to adopt "sensible" gun control measures approved by the foreign decision-makers.

If it has the potential to be even 1/53rd as bad as the European Union has already proven to be, we want to stay far, far away. The EU actually tried to ban or regulate the sales of bottled water in all federated countries because the labels claimed bottle water can't be proven to reduce the chance of getting dehydrated as some labels claimed.

Seriously. I wish I was lying.

Yes, the various countries in the EU have lost some of their sovereignty - many decisions they must abide by get decided OUTSIDE of their country.

This thing considered as science fiction - a merging of many of the countries in our hemisphere - and this crazy idea of a new currency called the Amero replacing the US Dollar... All that craziness gets 1 step closer if this passes...  Its not quite like the UN getting to decide the fate of our country... But it's not too far from that... Eventually.

Americans no longer decide our own fate if this gains ground...

It's shocking that these people on the other side of the aisle are pushing this with the president.

Ya know what - the other science fiction/conspiracy theory of Obama not allowing the next election to take place... As CRAZY as that sounds when you say it out loud. As ludicrous as that seems... It likely won't happen...

But, if something like this passes... All these crazy, ridiculous nut job things and stories that you hear of what MIGHT happen one day... It's all one step closer if this becomes law....
