I am interested as to how they ban someone from the store.
Do they have a wall of photos? or how do they enforce that?
I have a friend that is banned from the store here (not all stores, just this one).  He did go once since he was banned and he was recognized and arrested for criminal trespassing.  The how - - - - I guess Walmart (or any other retail store) has the right to refuse entry.  If made official in some capacity then it becomes a legal issue.

My parents have 5 acres they bought in 2002 and the house was finished in 2003.  Dad bought a JD 3-series.  It's old enough now that the options and features are different but for the relative size, look here ---->  https://www.deere.com/en/tractors/utility-tractors/3-family-compact-utility-tractors/.

It's probably one level too small for your needs but it has been pretty trouble free.  He has the front end loader (the nicer of the two) and various plows.  He pulls a finish mower (not a shredder) behind is for the pasture portion of the yard.  It does not have a belly mower.  He uses a rider for the Burmudagrass up close to the house.

I have a P38 on my key ring as well.  Maybe I'm just about to start some trouble too.

For a good while they outlawed the DZs at the Gainesville Super Center but they have recently returned.  Be advised it's the only Walmart in the entire County so they are always busy.  We have a diverse population here so expect so see all kinds.  I've gotten to where I only "have to" go in there about once per 6-8 weeks.  I went last weekend with a couple of my kids so I'm good for a while.

If you're asking if you were a jerk then maybe but it was justified IMO.  It's not the DZ's fault Walmart sucks and I wouldn't want to get him in trouble for doing his job but we all have our BS limit and the other associates and the way the store is run in general is the problem.

My MIL works at the one in a neighboring county and everything in the store down to the temperature of the thermostat is controlled by Arkansas.

General Gun Discussion / Re: Need opinion on a upper

Maybe a set of sights would help. :)

It appears to be a free float rail that wouldn't affect the barrel. however would have an affect on iron sights.
Remove and make sure its installed correctly or put an optic on the upper and shoot it.

That's a nice offer but I just picked up a '51 336RC waffle top in .30-30 a few months ago.  The guy I sold these Marlins to is a local firefighter I've dealt with before so I'm 99% certain they'll be gone Friday.

Thanks again.

Handguns and Revolvers / Uberti Cimarron SAA Colt Clone
« on: May 31, 2018, 05:09:05 AM »
Picked up a 5.5" Cimarron by Uberti Evil Roy edition in .45C. I'm a Ruger fan but I actually like this gun more because of the "real" hammer with firing pin, etc. It still has the coloring I prefer on the Vaquero, better grips, smoother action and I couldn't find an original full size Vaquero locally.

Some may know I have been looking for an original full size version of the Ruger Vaquero in .45C with the 5.5" barrel in CCH color scheme and for sale locally by an individual for a price I can afford....too many caveats.  Instead I got this.  One of the main attributes of the upscale Evil Roy edition (as compared to the standard model P Cattleman) is the professional action job and spring selection they receive in addition to the hand-checkered grips.

I've had brass, dies, and even two molds for .45 long before I got this so it was an easy step to come home with this gun for the first time yesterday and cook up a cylinder's worth of first meal. Not an ideal mold for the cartridge but for now it will do. Lyman 452374 (better suited for .45ACP) at 225gr, Used brass with 6.8gr W231 and a WLPP at 1.600" OAL and crimped with a Lee FCD.

I plan on getting the Lee 452-255-RF mold and use some Titegroup too.

Once I was trolled I stayed out of it.  Valid points have been made.  The assumption that defense rounds are THE reason to reload is silly.  I have factory ammo for that.  Whether or not other hand loaders take offense at such is their problem.  I like loading my own ammo and I like learning about it.  I don't like being insulted or talked down to just because my opinion or approach is different.

I'm likely right before (or barely too young on average) these movies are interesting.  Then again, as stated, movie watching seems like a time luxury I don't try to afford.

Yeah, if it's not for defense loads, flash is of little concern to me as well. I wish that Hornady would sell the Critical Duty bullets to handloaders.  :icon_wink:
Hornady has a winner of a product, 2 reasons I might expect they won't sell just the round (which is supposed to inflict maximum damage to an attacker).
First, they probably make more money selling the complete round.
Second, if a handloader under or over charges a round, uses in a life or death defensive action and it doesn't stop the threat, there may be some liability there if the round failed to properly expands or over expands.

I suspect that if Hornady had any such concerns it would more likely be in losing Critical Duty ammo sales. Some of the smaller "boutique" ammo-makers already use the XTP, so there would almost certainly be immediate competition against Hornady while using the Critical Duty bullets. Part of that could be prevented by offering handloaders bullet weights not used in their factory loads. I would want one at 147 grs. in 9mm.

With any specialized bullet, Hornady would likely post handload data at their site since their next load manual is likely to be years away since their last one is only a couple of years old.

I would tend to ASSume the former not the latter.  They just make more money using it themselves or possibly selling it to other "OEM" builders.

My defense 9X19s are currently filled with Hornady OEM defense rounds.  My favorite .357 load is a whole bunch of AA2400 under a greasy chunk of lead (smokey load) so muzzle flash doesn't bother me.

I have CFE but no CFE-pistol.  I really need a new storage solution.  I thought an old school metal filing cabinet would be a great idea but I'm out of room and disorganized.

Powder is hard to come by locally so I have none of the powders listed.  I bet I have eight powders that are at least compatible with 9X19.  I might just grab 500 of those bullets for myself.

https://www.evergladesammo.com/bullets/9mm-124gr-jhp-rn-v2.html

BTW....I got five one-pound jugs of Winchester AutoComp on the cheap and need to either trade it or try it.  Any experience?  I load for 9X19 and .45 ACP (in pistols).

The scopes and rings are free with rifle purchase.  We're not talking $3000 here.

I could however make a deal without them (or rings) with the purchase and pick up of BOTH rifles to whomever is interested.

No one?
Tired of carrying these around in my truck.
I know someone will want them if I put them away.

Congrats
