I dunno 'xactly.

But I will share that one of the nice things Tapacrapper does is:  it handles the hosting/posting chores when dropping images into forum posts.  This is extra convenient since 99% of the images I want to share were produced with my camera phone (I'm reminded that I need to charge cycle my actual camera batteries soon).

I sometimes go so far as to type out posts with the fullsized laptop keyboard and then edit in pictures in tapatalk.  When cross posting to multiple forums I also just find the URL created by the first forum upload and copy/paste that url into subsequent posts (right click - copy image address to clipboard - paste from clipboard).

But ... if tapacrapper pulls a photobucket ...

Finally, I cannot explain why I'm responding to a thread titled "test."

Right click on the image and a menu pops up. Click on "copy image address". Click reply here and right click in the message box and select "paste".

^ this will be pasted. In front of the paste type an opening bracket "[" then the letters "img" ( without the quotes) then a closing bracket "]".Then at the end of the paste type and opening bracket, a forward slash "\" the letters "img" again, and a closing bracket, all without spaces or quotes then post it here.

1.) Go to imgur.

2.) Click the green "New Post" button up top.

3.) Click "Browse" and navigate to wherever in your file directory to the picture is, be it Windows or Android (I ain't helpin' no stinkin' Apple users  :th_thicon_lol:).

4.) Once select it it will be uploaded. Once you are there, you will see a screen with the newly hosted photo and a box that pops up with the URL to the image itself.

5.) Click on the "v" chevron and click on where it says "Get sharable links".

6.) Copy + Paste "BBCode (Forums)" link here:

Ta da.

Note: You can also right click and select "Copy image address", or you can copy the link they give you in the little box that pops up whenever your mouse moves over the image, and add ".jpg" to (make sure to do this because the link as it is given is incomplete and won't work without it), then come here, click the icon of the photo beneath "B" so that it inserts a pair of image tags -- you simply paste the complete URL inside those tags and you're good to go. It's actually faster IMO to do these methods than the one above.

Thanks guys, appreciate your efforts and service.  I was 2 years too young to participate, but hope I made up for it in later life.

July - Sept of '71 I worked a static post about a mile from the front gate of Tan Son Nhut. Two ARVN "white mice" MP's and two of us. ARVN's were always asking "You have Marlboro or You have Salem"? Were the only people I knew that would eat the C ration ham and eggs. Decent duty intermixed with a little excitement every now and then.

I was able to get 2 or 3 two-week stints as Army Liaison to G2, MACV (involved in daily targeting of all 4 Corps) (almost forgot that the unit within G2 was called "TRAC" - Tactical Research and Analysis Center - the Military does love it's acronyms..) - in early 1965 the Navy rep was an E-4  :icon_wink:, they really hadn't gotten too involved in the conflict at that point

the "job" would take only a couple of hours each day (mostly trying to get calls thru) and then I'd spend the rest of the day "scrounging for stuff" that we couldn't get at the home base

had a good relationship with the Aussies and they'd fly "the stuff" for me on their Caribou aircraft - good guys, the Aussies

seems everytime I was in Saigon something got blown up - usually a hotel or something along the docks - hoped I wasn't bringing them "bad luck" (or that they'd suspect that I was the one who "did it")

also used TSN for emergency landings, twice - once each with an engine shot out and then with hydraulic lines severed
