Shiloh IDPA - now USPSA matches on the weekend
« on: January 27, 2014, 08:57:25 PM »
[NOTE: Shiloh Tactical Shooting Club is still holding IDPA matches weekly at Shiloh Indoor Shooting Range. This post is only about weekend matches.]

This January was Shiloh IDPA's last outdoor IDPA match. From this point on, all our outdoor matches will be USPSA rules. USPSA focuses less on perceived tactics (no hiding behind walls or wearing concealment) and opens up the matches to problem solving and allows the use of a larger set of equipment (depending on division).

You can also reload where you want, load up your magazines all the way (depending on division) and carry as many mags as you can fit on your belt (magazine placement depending on division).

Our USPSA matches fall under a new name: Bayou City Practical Shooters. You can visit the soon-to-be-looking-better website here:
http://www.bayoucityshooters.com/

Or you can read more about USPSA here:

Do I need to have both IDPA and USPSA memberships to compete or is one good for the other?

USPSA does not require membership to shoot the matches. However if you want to become classified in a division, you will need an active membership.

Are you guys still having these???

Typical turnout? popular divisions? Fee?

Sorry for the rudimentary questions.

Never shot USPSA before. So I figure I might as well wade into the deep end after pouring over the rule book lately.

What days will the matches be shot? Would love to make one since I'll be home more. Love shooting USPSA.

Yes, we are still having these. This month's scheduled match was today (Easter) so we cancelled it. Otherwise they are on the 3rd Sunday of the month, hammer down at 9:30. Match fee is $25 plus a yearly $10 insurance fee. Turnout can be expected to be between 40 and 50, so a pretty decent crowd.

I'd say be there, out of your car and signed up by 8:45.
